Hickman's 1950 McCormick-Deering O4 Tractor
Curtis tells us "The tractor
is a 1950, McCormick Deering O4. I bought it from an apple orchard
owner's widow who was being bought out by a larger orchard operation.
Her husband had bought it new in 1950. All it took to get it started
was fresh oil (it takes allot of oil to fill it up), new plugs (our cheap
gas requires to tractor to use hotter plugs) and a new 6 volt battery.
Actually I started it first time with the crank start. It runs great
now. Just use it to putt around on". Wonder how long it will
take Curtis to restore this tractor? Maybe he won't want to....At
any rate, it looks good to us right now!
